AndrewOwenAndrew Owen has a Master of Accountancy degree and a combined undergraduate degree in French and International Business from the University of Tennessee.  While in the masters program at Tennessee, Andrew received the fifth highest score in Tennessee in his first sitting of the CPA exam. In addition, he studied corporate reporting practices and taught courses in tax and financial accounting as part of the accounting PhD program at the University of Georgia. He is a Georgia CPA.

As a practicing accountant, Andrew has strong experience with tax accounting, FAS 109 and FIN 48. He worked in the international tax group of a Big 4 firm in Atlanta for three years assisting U.S. inbound and outbound individual and corporate clients with foreign tax credit, Subpart F, repatriation, deferral and related planning. He continues to focus on international tax planning and compliance and works on a wide variety of international and state tax issues. Andrew has developed an expertise in U.S. branch taxes, Section 1446 withholding and U.S. tax treaties.

Andrew is Schwartz International’s only international tax specialist to have lived and worked in both LaFollette, Tennessee and Réunion Island, France.
