Schwartz International Launches CGC International Tax!

Charles Christensen, CPA

Managing Partner of CGC International Tax

Being an accountant is literally in Charles’ blood as the son of two CPAs,

but it was a university class in international tax that sparked his passion for the niche and decision to become an International Tax Nerd. Charles earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Accounting and International Tax from The University of Georgia after obtaining most of his undergrad hours at The University of Mississippi (Hotty Toddy!).

Charles began his career in international tax at a Big 4 accounting firm working with global companies. After three years’ worth of exposure to a wide variety of transactions and clients, he was a natural fit for Schwartz International – where he began as an International Tax Senior Advisor.

Charles Christensen is the Co-founder and Managing Partner of CGC International Tax,

a CPA firm focused on U.S. and cross-border tax compliance and reporting. He has spent his career helping globally mobile individuals, partnerships, and corporations navigate the complex intersection of U.S. and international tax rules.

CGC International Tax was born out of Schwartz International’s compliance practice and now operates as its sister firm, continuing the same high-quality service with a sharper focus on global tax compliance.

Charles led the compliance arm of Schwartz International for almost a decade, where he worked closely with multinational clients on inbound and outbound structuring, global reporting, and IRS disclosures.

He began his career in international tax with a Big 4 firm, gaining experience across a wide range of industries and jurisdictions.

Active in the International Fiscal Association (IFA), AICPA, and Georgia Society of CPAs, Charles brings a global perspective to every engagement—ensuring that U.S. tax positions align with the broader cross-border picture.

Married in 2016 right after joining the firm, Charles and his wife Emily are part of eight generations in the metro Atlanta area. Their two boys, Jones and Charlie, keep them on their toes and constantly busy. Charles loves being “Dada” and enjoys spending time with his family.

When not working or spending time with family, Charles enjoys his lifelong relationship with snow skiing, as he began skiing in Colorado when he was eight years old. He participated and played basketball, baseball, wrestling, and football at Northview High School in Johns Creek. Sports has always “played” an important part in his life, as he has added golf to his repertoire over the past ten years. He and his family are also members of North Point Community Church.
