Charles Christensen, CPA
Being an accountant is literally in Charles’ blood as the son of two CPAs,
but it was a university class in international tax that sparked his passion for the niche and decision to become an International Tax Nerd. Charles earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Accounting and International Tax from The University of Georgia after obtaining most of his undergrad hours at The University of Mississippi (Hotty Toddy!).
Charles began his career in international tax at a Big 4 accounting firm working with global companies. After three years’ worth of exposure to a wide variety of transactions and clients, he was a natural fit for Schwartz International – where he began as an International Tax Senior Advisor.
More recently, Charles has moved into his new role as Partner at Schwartz International,
which has allowed him to continue to take on more responsibility as the firm has continued to expand and grow. He particularly relishes the challenges and opportunities that each individual and business client brings, since no two issues are ever completely the same. Charles is an active member of IFA, the AICPA, and the Georgia Society of CPAs. He also actively participates in the firm’s global accounting alliance, Allinial Global.
Married in 2016 right after joining the firm, Charles and his wife Emily are part of eight generations in the metro Atlanta area. Their two boys, Jones and Charlie, keep them on their toes and constantly busy. Charles loves being “Dada” and enjoys spending time with his family.
When not working or spending time with family, Charles enjoys his lifelong relationship with snow skiing, as he began skiing in Colorado when he was eight years old. He participated and played basketball, baseball, wrestling, and football at Northview High School in Johns Creek. Sports has always “played” an important part in his life, as he has added golf to his repertoire over the past ten years. He and his family are also members of North Point Community Church.
