From Jaipur, Marc flew to Pune where he met fellow Corporate Tax Alliance member Ameya Kunte, Founder of Globeview Advisors LLP, for multiple presentations to business leaders.
He focused on significant India-US cross-border Income and Estate Tax issues – and of course made sure the crowds knew he wasn’t responsible for the tariffs on India announced the night before! They started with SEAP (Software Exporters Association of Pune) where there was a lively discussion on characterizing transactions under both domestic law and the income tax treaty, as well as current events, including the new US tax law, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
The next stop was meeting with members of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), more specifically, the Pune Branch of the Western India Regional Council of the ICAI. After non-stop presentations, Ameya led a tour inspired by Pune’s history before Marc escaped to a well-earned meditation retreat center for 24 hours before the traffic-riddled (yet scenic, mountainous) drive to Mumbai and the long flights home.
