Marc Schwartz & Paul Tadros present at the 2020 Virtual Estate Planning Conference (NYC)

Marc Schwartz and Paul Tadros missed out on what would have been a fun trip to New York City due to COVID-19 and instead participated in the September 16, 2020 virtual EPCNYC Estate Planners Day conference from the comfort of their home offices. EPCNYC (Estate Planning Council of New York City, Inc.) brings together the New York City area’s top estate planners, including attorneys/CPAs/financial planners/insurance professionals and others, and our international tax nerds felt privileged to have been invited to speak. They led a discussion on the practical international tax items that estate tax planners should know so they can appropriately identify the issues of concern to their clients. Thanks to EPCNYC for a great day.

Special thanks to Sarah A. Fields of Prager Metis CPAs, LLC for moderating the discussion and also to Ladidas Lumpkins and E. Martin Davidoff of Prager Metis CPAs, LLC for being such good friends of the firm.

Separately, many US and foreign colleagues and clients ask for educational materials on how the US taxes individuals and companies with cross-border issues. In an effort to help address these questions, we’ve created a series of courses titled Practical International Tax for the Non-specialist. The goal is to allow you to identify the significant international tax issues that your company, your clients or you face. We have done this with a continuing professional education content provider, Illumeo. Seven sessions are completed, and we are working on additional topics. There is a discount code provided  so please feel free to use or to forward to someone who might be interested. We would love your feedback. Access the courses here.
