Bundle Up with a Good Book Written by One of Our Clients

At Schwartz International we get to work with clients all over the world and while we don’t usually talk about their work, we’re excited to let you know about one of our clients, the children’s author Sheila M. Averbuch, based in Scotland, whose debut thriller is a great choice for anyone needing book ideas for tweens.

Thriller, Young Adult Books, International Tax

Published by Scholastic Press New York, Sheila’s novel Friend Me is a thriller that tells the story of a bullied seventh grader whose bully has a bad accident, and she starts to worry that her new best friend – who she only knows online – may be responsible.

Friend Me has picked up strong reviews, with Publishers Weekly calling it a “cyberthriller that will keep readers on the edge of their seats,” and it was also named as an Amazon Best Book of the Month.

Sheila is a former tech journalist and says the story springs from the tech she reads and writes about for her day job, from robotic animals to intrusive AI personal assistants. “A lot of children’s writers shy away from including technology in their books because they’re not so comfortable with it themselves,” Sheila says. “I wanted to write a story that shows technology, especially mobile phones where they really are in young people’s lives: right at the center.”

You can pick up Friend Me at your local independent bookseller or visit here.
